Baby and Toddler Items for a Day at Disney

Hello! I’m Melanie Press, Travel Advisor and the brains behind Just Press Go Travel. I’ve been to Disney six times with my kids (thus far and way more without them) and these are the items I swear by for a day or days in the parks.

I’ve gone ahead and divided the items up based on where I store them during my park day.

Note: None of these links are commission – just information and vibes.

Air Tags

Air tag everything. Stroller. Diaper bag. Your kid. Or Tile. Whatever your preferred location device is. Strollers get moved regularly by Cast Members (Disney Employees). Things have the potential of being stolen or lost. Just tag it all so you can find it.

Diaper Bag

A good diaper bag: This should have pockets (but not too many pockets), be comfortable, and obviously should be able to hold your essentials for the day. Ones I’ve used and liked in the parks are the Large Dagne Dover Diaper Bag and the Lululemon New Parent Backpackg. One I do not recommend is the No Reception Club Diaper Bag – this is amazing for travel in general, but it has soooo many pockets to get checked at park security.

A fanny pack: This is for cell phone, wallet, valuables, and maybe some small essentials that you may want should you be separated from your diaper bag. When we are there with the kids, we may leave the diaper bag in the parked stroller when going on rides, and this keeps those valuables close. Personal favorite is the Jumbo Fanny Pack from Stoney Clover Lane.

Go bag: Diapers, cream, wipes, change of clothes, small trash bags, and disposable changing pad(s) – so you can grab if you don’t want to take the whole diaper bag with you somewhere.

More diapers than necessary: However many you think you’re going to need, grab a few more. Disney days can be wild and you may be out longer than you expect, just have more.

Hand Sanitizer: Keep in either the fanny pack or the diaper bag.

Kid Tylenol: You never know.

Sunscreen: Especially a sunscreen stick that you can reapply when in lines without disturbing other guests around you.

Binky ON A LEASH: Just the leash in general so you can attach the binky or a small toy to kiddos when in the stroller or if you’re wearing them. Note: There’s probably a better way to phrase this, but binky on a leash is what my family calls it.

Reusable water bottle: You can get ice and water at any quick service to keep it filled, there are also water bottle refill stations throughout the parks and filtered water at the Baby Care Centers. I find my HydroFlaskstays coldest, but I like that the Owala covers the mouth piece.

External Battery & Charging Cables: Using the My Disney Experience App and taking photos can be draining on your phone. I always have an external battery. This is also helpful for recharging some of the fans that I bring.

Swaddle blanket: Keep the kiddos warm or to put on the ground to set baby on

Entertainment: Kid Toys and Books

Change of clothes for kids: Blowouts or getting soaked from a splash pad.

Snacks: May also store in the stroller. Just make sure that no food is open, exposed, and left behind in the stroller – the Disney squirrels and birds will find them.

Stroller

Travel Stroller: I say travel because if you are at Disney and staying on property, you are most likely using Disney Transportation, which means you have to break down your stroller for the buses. You’re going to want something that folds up easily, quickly, and is hopefully on the lighter side. Single strollers I’ve used and liked are the Babyzen Yoyo and the Zoe Single. The double stroller I’ve used so far is the Uppababy Minu Duo.

A large bag: I use a large reusable shopping bag. This is to load everything for my stroller in a bag to make it easy to breakdown the stroller and get on/off transportation.

Rain Cover: Always have a rain cover for your stroller. It will rain. It’s even smart to put it over your stroller whenever you’re going to be parking it for a bit, especially in the afternoon, because you never know when there is going to be a pop up shower.

Rain Jackets and/or Ponchos: See above. It will rain.

Stroller Fan: It is Florida. It’s probably going to be hot.

Additional fansNeck fan and clip on fans. I loved the clip on fan while I was babywearing to help keep baby cooler, and then the neck fan helped keep me cooler.

Baby Carrier: This is going to be age dependent on which you bring. For those under a year that are not walking, I recommend a soft structure baby carrier – our preference is either the Ergobaby Embrace or the Wildbird Aerial. For those that are walking, either the Wildbird Aerial or the Tushbaby…or maybe both. If your kid is one that wants to be up and down, the Tushbaby is a lifesaver. It also has storage pockets for valuables and snacks!

Do you have something else you keep with you that I missed? Let me know in the comments.
